If you’re thinking of making some green/energy efficient home improvements in the near future, we’ll soon have a discounted Green Home Improvement Loan for you. This new discounted loan can be used to fund improvements that will improve the energy efficiency and comfort of your home as well as significantly reducing your energy bills and carbon footprint while protecting our environment.
Qualifying Works for Green Home Improvement Loans
A Green Home Improvement Loan from Blackrock Credit Union can be used for any of the following energy efficient home improvement works

. Cavity Wall Insulation
. External Wall Insulation
. Drylining Internal Walls
. Floor Insulation
. Double/Triple Glazed Windows & Doors
. Boilers
. Heating Control Upgrades
. Solar Panels & Batteries
. Heat Pumps
. Wood fuel stove
. Ventilation system
. Home Energy Assessment
. Project Management
. Any other approved Retrofit project

We have two Green Home Improvement loan rates on offer to our members as follows:

To avail of a Green Home Improvement Loan you must provide evidence that your home improvement includes qualifying works from the list above or you have a BER certificate that shows the works you have undertaken have improved the BER rating of your home.
Energy Upgrade Grants from SEAI
If you improve the energy efficiency of your home you may also be entitled to a grant from the SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland). Please note you must have grant approval in place before you start works. For further details on the home energy grants that may be available to you please see the SEAI website .
We will send full details of this new Green Home Improvement Loan when it is launched in October 2023 to all members that we have marketing permissions for. If you would like to update your permissions to ensure you get this information please contact us.
